Our Mission and Values

Alton Pride is a charitable and educational organization established to bring awareness, understanding, and advocacy to the regional LGBTQ+ community.


By fostering and building relationships within the surrounding communities and other 501 c3 organizations, we create a network of support that will meet the needs of LGBTQ+ people and other communities.

With monthly meetings and an active Messenger thread, this group of volunteers serves two-year terms on our Board, each responsible for a specific aspect. 


Each Board member coordinates volunteer subcommittees to support their particular tasks. If you have time and/or talent to share, let's talk!


If you recently made a goal to give back and get more involved with your community, we invite you to join us! Our Board seeks to fill the two volunteer positions listed below before the New Year. Commitment includes monthly meetings and a desire to enrich our local LGBTQ+ community and benefit the Riverbend area through community outreach.

This board-level volunteer position is responsible for planning and executing three to four events throughout the calendar year.* Tasks include securing venues, coordinating third-party vendors, and recruiting volunteers.

This board-level volunteer position is responsible for developing sponsorship packages, presenting opportunities to area businesses and organizations, and securing fundraising donations to underwrite our events and activities. It would be fantastic if you were already well-connected and established in the local business community!
