Join Alton Pride in building a strong & vibrant LGBTQ+ community, connecting with our neighbors, and caring for those in need
Alton Pride is a charitable and educational organization dedicated to raising awareness, understanding, and advocacy for our regional LGBTQ+ community, with a special focus on the needs of LGBTQ+ youth. Our dedicated volunteers work to create memorable events and activities throughout the year to support an inclusive and supportive environment for all.
In the first year of our event, 10 bars participated, donating 2,111 non-perishable food items, with Pete’s Lounge leading the effort. We partnered with Mike and Mikey Klasner to provide 55 Thanksgiving meals to local families. Last year, 11 establishments joined, donating 3,366 items, and Pete’s Lounge again led the way. With the collected donations, Alton Pride was able to provide 55 Thanksgiving meals to Alton Riverbend Head Start and families in the community, along with a large donation to the Crisis Food Center, the Boy’s and Girls Club, and the Crisis Panty in Alton
Thanks to our past participants: Pete’s Lounge, Bossanova Martini Lounge and Restaurant, The Firehouse, Chubby’s Grill and Garage, Beer Barrel Pub, Bubby & Sissy’s, Spectator’s Bar and Grill, Sunset Bar and Grill, Clifton Terrace Inn and Hiram’s Bar,
Norb’s Taven, DJ’s Bar and Grill, Morrisons Irish Pub, Old Bakery Beer Company, Bakers & Hale, Bluff City Grill, FLOCK, and Sip & Play Wine and Gaming Cafe.
This year’s competition, which runs from October 27 to November 10, will expand to include local small businesses. Invitations will be sent soon.
